Okanui Rides the Wave of Global Growth with NetSuite
Sydney-born beach lifestyle brand adopts integrated suite to streamline finance and operations, enhance customer experience, and drive global growth
Okanui, a family-owned beach apparel company, is using Oracle NetSuite to support its mission to help people with a passion for coastal living escape the everyday. With NetSuite’s AI-powered cloud enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, Okanui has centralised financials and inventory management and improved customer experience as it expands its e-commerce, retail, and wholesale business across Australia and beyond.
Founded in 1978 on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Okanui now operates ten retail stores across Australia and serves a growing global customer base with its strong online presence. With increasing complexity in global sourcing and distribution, Okanui needed to move off previous systems that struggled to support demand planning and multichannel international operations. It required a scalable system that would enable more automation and efficiency. After careful evaluation, Okanui selected NetSuite as its new ERP system.
“Inaccurate inventory and manual data adjustments were major pain points for us,” said Simon Kasprowicz, CEO, Okanui. “Since implementing NetSuite, we’ve centralised inventory, automated integrations with platforms like Shopify, and gained confidence in the accuracy of our data. This has freed our team to focus on growth and customer experience rather than troubleshooting system issues. Our business grew by 80 percent last year, which wouldn’t have been possible without NetSuite.”
With NetSuite, Okanui has been able to integrate workflows across finance, inventory, warehousing, and multichannel sales. For example, NetSuite’s financial management capabilities have enabled the finance team to accelerate month-end reporting and improve decision-making, while its inventory management capabilities have helped to improve demand planning, optimise fulfilment, and increase warehouse output by more than 300 percent. In addition, NetSuite OneWorld enables Okanui to handle multicurrency transactions, comply with local tax and reporting requirements, and consolidate financials as it expands into new regions.
“Aussie retailers with global ambition need to ensure their systems are in sync to be able to anticipate customer demand, optimise inventory, and efficiently deliver against customer expectations,” said Scott Wiltshire, vice president and general manager, Australia and New Zealand, Oracle NetSuite. “With NetSuite, Okanui has been able to leverage the power of the suite to align and automate finance and operations, expand insights, improve decision-making and deliver exceptional customer experiences.”
